BATANES DREAM!

WHY ME??? I’ve been travelling for 8 years that I could almost complete the map of the Philippines except for BATANES. I love to go on this island for some reasons. This place is a big travel dream for me. I love to take a trip and meet travel bloggers to share and exchange thoughts about their adventure and mine too. If luck will strike me, I could hitch two purposes in one shot if I will be given a chance to join the tour.

Batanes is just among one of my trip cravings. I heard a lot of things about Batanes based from the experience of other people on their personal blog sites and reviews. Basically, it’s too far located at the north area, closer to Taiwan. Getting there is not simple, and from what I’ve heard, getting out of there is harder still. The airfare is quite expensive - 10,000 bucks! others would rather opt to splurge this amount on a weekend spree somewhere else on a out of country trip ticket to our Southeast Asian neighbors.

I’ve heard nothing but praises for the beauty of this island, and for the simplicity of its people, the Ivatans. The isolation of the place makes Batanes alluring. The landscapes are pretty much unscathed, and the culture closer to its roots.

This is where the Pacific Ocean and South China Sea meet in a majestic clash of waves that backdrop Batanes.

From pictures, I wanted to feel the cold northern winds that plow through the so called Marlboro Country, with a romantic view of the cliffs and waters from both the Sabtang and Basco Lighthouses.

Another interesting fact about the natives of Batanes is their prominent honesty. The Honesty Coffee Shop is a good proof of this one. There’s no one in charge with the goods and all you have to do is to buy an item and leave the payment somewhere there. Amazing indeed!

Batanes is simply beautiful. No words can best describe it.

I could list down everything but it won’t be ever complete if I myself was never been there. That’s why I’m grabbing this opportunity from SEA AIR and hoping for a very special gift to Welcome 2011 – The Batanes Trip!
